Sjoblom Cockers prides itself in breeding quality,
socialized, healthy American Cocker Spaniels for the whole family.
All dogs are raised in the house as family members.
We believe in doing our best to produce the healthiest dogs
that we can through the combination of health testing,
quality food and by keeping up on the latest research
in regards to feeding, disease and vaccinations.

The kennel name Sjoblom is actually the Swedish spelling
of my maiden name
"Seabloom".
We live on beautiful Vancouver Island, which is surrounded by water,
so I thought it would make a great name for the work that we do.

My logo symbolizes an American Cocker
blooming from the sea.
This logo was imagined by my husband, Keven,
then designed and drawn by Cynthia Newans.
The cocker head is actually a drawing, not a photo.

Who Are We?
My husband and I reside in North Cowichan on acreage with our
four American Cocker Spaniels and 2 German Shepherds.
We only breed occasionally with the intention of keeping something
for ourselves to work with in a variety of venues.
We play with our dogs in conformation, obedience, agility, tracking and
herding.
We believe in good exercise, good mental stimulation, and of course good food.
Your dogs will only be as healthy as you feed them.
I do ask that puppy buyers research the food that they intend to feed.
This can be one of the most important ways to ensure that you are doing as
well as you can to ensure a healthy dog.

American Cocker Spaniels
An American Cocker Spaniel is a great family dog,
but must be KEPT as a member of the family.
They do not do well left out in the yard or with little human contact.
This breed was bred to work with mankind and are therefore,
a smart dog who is eager to please.
They are a versatile breed that does well in obedience, agility, field work,
tracking as well as anything else you would like them to do.
An American Cocker Spaniel requires a fair bit of grooming.
If left unbrushed, their coats will matt.
A twice weekly brushing is usually required to keep the coat matt free.
A grooming session every 6-8 weeks is also required
to keep their coat trimmed and presentable.
As with all dogs with pendulous ears,
their ears need cleaning with
Blue Powder solution
to prevent them from becoming infected,
due to moisture trapped within them.
